Hey, Baby!
The Scholl Center staff welcomes infants, toddlers and children to their clinic. Our pediatric audiologists and speech pathologists have special training and experience which makes them experts in their respective field. Through collaboration with FristBook and Scholastic, every child visiting the clinic received an age-appropriate book to take home with them.
The pediatric audiologists at The Scholl Center specialize in birth-to-18 years. Dr. Scholl has been a guest author and speaker on the subject numberous times.
From the time an infant refers on a newborn hearing screeing, The Scholl Center can help you navigate through the process. Strong community ties and collaboration with resources assist families in a "whole-child" approach. Onsite access to ear, nose & throat specialists specializing in children with hearing loss is another added benefit.
We believe in the earliest intervention possible for infants. If an infant refers on the newborn hearing screening in the hospital, parents can contact The Scholl Center for a rescreening ABR within the first month of life. If the infant refers on the rescreening, a diagnostic auditory brainstem response (ABR) will determine if there is hearing loss. If a hearing loss is diagnosed, immediate intervention is recommended for optimal outcomes.
Visit www.infanthearing.org for more information regarding infant hearing loss. The Scholl Center subscribes to best practice protocols for all infant testing and intervention.
